A interesting and thoughtful movie with many twists and turns where fantasy, and real life co-mingle to create a universe unlike any other. A world where the lives of six people are connected through the strands of fate forever. Cloud Atlas a film where six people live throughout generations rising and falling trying to gain freedom for themselves and others and promoting free speech and free will. A thought provoking film filled with fantasy, romantics, oppression, rising up, and rebirth that deliver an action packed story. Cloud Atlas is a film that is under appreciated, this film breaks the usual film script and promotes the idea of being able to be free. Free from society and it’s holds all while fighting oppression and trying to do right by society. Another interesting factor is that some of the characters are telling the story or writing the music for the film. For example the musician during the movie is the one writing and playing the music. This in turn is setting the theme for the whole movie and all the actors or characters, these people mention that they know the tone of the song. A clone that free’s her fellow clones from societies hold’s is worshipped as a God after the fall of the “future” generation and the “after” generation uses her words a guidance for self preserving their community and choosing the right thing to do. A man dedicating his life to saving slaves after he was saved by one himself. He throws everything aside in order to save the black community and tell the world that what white people are doing to the blacks is wrong. This is about the travel of individuals and the idea of how humans once we are born we are born connected or tied to others. Our fates are determined and our mission becomes one with others. This mission continues on even after you have passed because what you do in your previous life sets in motion what your future will experience.
