Essay

Memento is a Drama/Crime film following a man named Leonard. He has a condition that causes him to not be able to make any short term memory. Which is troubling because throughout the film he is trying to track down his wife’s killer. He tries to combat this issue with leaving himself notes on the back of photos that he takes, and for very important information he gets it tattooed onto his body. Memento was an interesting movie because its one that you have to watch closely, and pay attention. This is because as you are watching it you start to think if even Leonard is a reliable narrator. All we have to go by on whats true is what Leonard is saying to us, and also when we see people starting to trick him. Even with this though we see one instance where Leonard alters his own information, so then the lines get blurred on who the real killer is and if Leonard original mission was to actually hunt his wife’s killer.
