The opening part of the scene starts with the main character peter stuck in traffic on his way to work, no matter what he does he cannot manage to get out of the traffic and ends up being late for work.
This scene is right when peter gets to work after being stuck in traffic. His boss comes to tell him he must have missed this memo about how the reports need to have a cover letter on them. Knowing he already made the mistake peter just takes all of the crap that his boss and other bosses give him over the cover letter memo.
First meeting with anistons boss and aniston. We find out that there she also hates her job just like peter does and suffers from a similar struggle.
After peter finds out that his girlfriend cheated on him he got convinced to see a hypnotist. This hypnotist ends up putting peter into a trance that makes him not worry or care about anything. The hypnotist soon dies after wards leaving peter in this trance of no care.
This is peter sitting in his cubicle after he has been hypnotized. He is non carring and talking about how he is going to do nothing to keep his job and he is actually going to start going to work late and start to disrespect all of his bosses.
Peter is then interviewed by the two corporate specialist that have come in to check on him and all of his days off. After long talks with these two gentlemen he finds out that they are actually very impressed by him not car-ring that they want to give him a promotion and raise. He then finds out his friends are going to get fired because of his failures and carelessness. The trio then come up with the idea to steal from the company.
peter and his friends in this scene really let out the hate towards their company and inotech. They take the fax machine outside and begin to beat it up. This exact fax machine has caused the trio many problems in the past and also is a sense of release for them to destroy the machine.
Jeniffer anistons character is now realising since peter could do nothing she should also do something. Her boss comes up to her and talks about all the carelessness, poor reputation, and dress code of anistons character. She then quits the job by giving the boss the finger and calling that her flair.
The building starts on fire after someone got their stapler stolen away. This allows Peter and his friends to get out of all the money problems that they had when they tried to steal money in the first place.
Happy, peter finds a job with anistons character and breaks up with his girlfriend. His job is construction and he appears to be happy near the end.
Essay
The movie is placed in an office setting, and you are introduced to 4 main characters in the beginning. Peter gibbons a man who hates his job and will do just about anything to not have to work there anymore. Michael Bolton and Samir Ngheenanjar are his two friends who also hate to work at their job at inotech. Last but not least is Lawrence peters neighbor that works at the neighborhood bar.
Peter finds out his girlfriend is cheating on him and gets convinced to go see a hypnotherapist. This hypnotist puts him in a state of mind known as ecstasy and he views the company and life a different way. Shortly after the therapist dies and is unable to change peters views back so he is forever stuck in this form of ecstasy. Peter the goes onto being promoted to manager at inotech by not caring about his job and then begins to date Lawrence. But when he finds out his friends are going to get fired for him being promoted so much they attempt to steal small amounts from inotech but screw up and endup taking large ammounts of money form the company through a typo error in their program. The three then constantly try to cover their tracks but with little time another co worker ends up starting the building on fire. Making all of their stolen money disappear. Peter then moves on and finds a job in construction.
