Pablo Ferro

Pablo Ferro was born January 15, 1935. He was raised on a farm in Cuba he then immigrated to New York with his family when he was a teenager. Ferro taught himself animation from a book by Preston Blair. Not only is he known for his animations, but also for his photography, quick cutting, and live-action. Ferro is both a graphic designer and film title designer. During his time working at a company that makes commercials he befriended people like Bill Tytla former Disney animator and Stan Lee the then-future editor of Marvel Comics. For over 40 years Ferro has been putting himself out there on moving image through works like opening titles for Stanley Kubrick’s, Dr.Strangelove. For Hal Ashby’s Being There (1979) and Gus Van Sant’s To Die For (1995). He currently resides in Los Angeles and is still working sometimes with his son Allen Ferro. Ferro has received the Chrysler Design Award, the Art Directors Club Hall of Fame Award, and the AIGA Medal.
