Sponsor Company shows we see a bright white light that seems to blind the viewer and suddle black spots are shown on fabric of some sort.

Black ink begins to spill over fabric creating a bleed effect into the fabric.

Ink splatters continue to take up the white space, it is unclear where these ink splatters are coming from but they splash against the fabric and walls, sometime the ink reverses too.

Some typorgrpahy is hidden due to the ink but it is still elebable enought to see the title of the movie

A dancer in full white is dancing behind the traparent curtain, we never see her face only her body. She dances with the fabric in harmony but as the title processes and more ink is splashed we see her body get covered in hink as well ruining her dress.

The entire screen is filled with black ink and letters are almost unreadable.

The film keeps the use of white and black throughtout the entie film, only showing white, black, and varuious greys. The movie itself is in a grey hue in most colored shots.

The movie does a very good job of never showing the dancers face, that is how you know it's a sincere and serous scene becasue with the black background our eyes go to the dancers body movement rather than her face.

We only ever get to see the dancers in pure white until the end of the film, The white shoes and dresses could mean the purity of mind the dancers have before they start to decline in mental states.

becasue this is a phycological horror film we see the use of expression is important too. But expesally in this scene we only see the horrific expression of the drawing but not the dancer herself, The dancer goes on to rip the picture off the wall.

Throughout this film I think the director really wanted the viewers to look at the body lanuguage of the dancer rather than anything else in the film, hence the use of black background and the dancers in white so they are the center of attention.

The only use of color we see on the stage when the actors are dancing is the color green, Green in this scene cn be depicted as very beautiful or very evil, as a viewer seeing the color I expect somthing bad is going to happen in the film.

A the dancer falls into despair the films atmosphere goes from white to green to show that the dancer is in distress and starting to show signs of sadness.

The use of black feathers is the most important factor of this film, since it is called "Black Swan" the black feathers make an appearance in the trailer of the movie to show darkness andrepresent the swan. A black swan is seen as something dark and ugly instead of beautiful

At the end of the film in the final dance we see the dancer putting on her best performance and as she dances she physically turns into a black swan growinging feathers around her body, it's safe to say the black feathers are just imagery into the dancers mind but it gives a very cool effect how the dancer went from white and pure to dark and horrifying.

I think the most important factor of the film is that strive to achive perfection and never finding it. So you end up losing yourself in the process of trying to be perfect. I think that's a great lesson in the film.

Film Choice: Black Swan

The Black Swan, a 2010 American psychological horror film starring Natalie Portman and directed by Darren Aronofsky, explores the world of ballet, mental health, and the cost of achievement in its ominous title scene. Hallucinations and mental strain strike Nina, the main character, as a result of the extreme pressure and fixation with perfection. The obsession with perfection exhibited by the movie's Nina character bears similarities to OCD. The audience is left to interpret Nina's mental disorder because the film does not provide an explanation for her diagnosis or depict her undergoing therapy.

Almost no color is exhibited in the title sequence, which only consists of a succession of white and black images. In addition to being aesthetically pleasing, this also conveys a sense of unease because the title sequence seems empty. The dancer is virtually unidentifiable but still incredibly elegant, and the audience can sense something is wrong only by the black ink splattering across the screen. However, the gratitude is cut short by the black ink splattering onto the screen. The typeface is still legible despite the ink splattering, notably the title. The usage of reversal is something else I seem to be seeing about the tile sequence. Reversing some of the ink splatters causes the typography to change from being ineligible to being eligible once more. Given that the movie is about mental health and illness, this striking yet cool effect could be seen as a warning that not everything can be undone.

Another striking pattern in the title sequence is how everything is initially very tidy and pure white, but as time passes, more black ink is spilled, ruining the lovely white dress the woman is wearing but also adding a dramatic touch and making the figure stand out more in the scene. This use of black ink to cover the subject may also be related to the movie's theme of mental health.

Words to Idea + Thesis Statement

The ballet dancer and the ink spatter are used to highlight the character's possessiveness as her mental health deteriorates and the transitions from light to dark. Hallucinations could also be represented by the use of ink and darkness, seeing things you can’t really see or are not there entirely. The most significant element in the first scene is the ink, which is used to represent gloom, dread, and terror.
