This scene is shot moments prior to Eddie's introduction with the life-altering drug, NZT-48. Through out the movie, any times in which the protagonist is not on the drug, the colors used are very de-saturated and dull, creating an overall subdued mood.

The captivation behind Eddie’s fixed glance on this little, clear pill that signifies a great significance.

The clarity gained after taking the drug, can be paralleled by the physical appearance of the drug alone. The reluctance to take the drug is broken once the pill comes out of its packaging.

Eddie was a struggling writer with little going for him, however, after his introduction with the little clear pill, he is enabled to 100% of his brain capacity, allowing for major success. In the scenes where Eddie has taken the drug, the colors are as bright and saturated as his success.

This scene depicts the ingestion of the pill. I like the skeletal portrayal of the pill going down because the movie has a lot of scenes in which the drug effects are shown internally in the body.

Eddie's mental abilities are displayed in this scene as he is instantly released from his writer's block.

Another internal manifestation of the effects of the drug are externally displayed. Eddie's feelings of overachievement are displayed because the drug allows him to feel as if there are multiples of him, combining all of their abilities to get things done faster.

The multiple fast-paced scenes of New York within this movie are used to represent the fast pace at which Eddie's brain circulates when he is drug-induced.

This scene represents the culmination of the dangers that Eddie's fixation has led him to.

This is Eddie's view while standing on the ledge of the building. The city looks as systematic as Eddie's brain when on the drug.

Limitless: An expose on drug-induced behaviors and the dangers that become embedded within addictions. The mysterious opening scene filled with fast-paced music, bright city lights, and an attempted suicide, comes to a halt as we are introduced to the main character, Eddie; a disheveled, struggling man on the brink of losing his job as well as his relationship. As Eddie is walking home after a defeating day, he runs into his ex-brother in law who offers him a new success-inducing drug called NZT-48. Eddie is reluctant to accept, but after consuming one capsule, his life is transformed, and he is instantly able to recall details from every source he ever had an interaction with. This newfound brain capacity allows him to become a successful financial tycoon within days, causing speculation from some observers of his upswing. After Eddie’s dependence on the drug deepens, so do his dangers, and he winds up in a series of troublesome events.

The tone of the movie elevates from a depressing, hopeless representation of a lost cause, to an upbeat success story. The use of color is important within this movie, as the scenes where Eddie is off of the drug are shown with subdued, mild colors, whereas the scenes of Eddie on NZT-48 are shot using a highly-saturated color palette. The movie is set within the fast-paced city of New York City, and there are many very sped-up scenes of New York, that I believe reflect the fast pace at which Eddie is keeping up with his newfound intelligence. The pseudo psychedelic expressions are depicted in scenes where words are floating around Eddie, or there are multiple Bradley Coopers within one scene. Overall, the movie represents Eddie’s fixation on the drug and his crave for success through contrasting colors, a glimpse into the rush of city life, and an external representation of a drug addict’s internal feelings.

Eddie Mora must distinguish his crave for success from his desire to live as he becomes fixated on a drug, enabling access to 100% of the human brain as well as dangerous encounters with addicts of the drug.

This is meant to signify the main element of the movie: the pill which mentally strengthen those who consume it. It will blink in and out for a second before expanding and revealings its contents (the grid acting as brain processes).

This shows when the pill expands an parallels the idea of the brain "opening op" once the pill is ingested.

This is the initial appearance of the grid. It appears 2D right now and will be added a layer of dimensionality as the camera zooms in.

As the camera zooms in, the typographic elements of the sequence will be revealed as they blink in and out just as the pill did in the beginning.

Same thing as above, words change as the zoom of the camera progresses, exposing more layers to the grid.

Another name.

This will be the very last view for the title where all the grid lines in the sequence come together to form this. This also a really rough sketch of how it will look.
