This scene shows the first main character of the movie escaping three bandits and running away. He is called Tuco and known as “The Ugly.” In this scene there is also a musical melody that shows up in various ways throughout the film.
There is an intense the mood between these two characters as if something might suddenly happen. Throughout the whole scene, the two men do not take their eyes off each other and barely blink. The stare down in this scene is a motif used throughout the rest of the movie. The man on the right is Angel Eyes, “The Bad.”
This scene shows Tuco with Blondie, “The Good” running out of town. At this point in the movie, they are scamming the local sheriffs by turning Tuco in, collecting a bounty, and Blondie shoots the hang rope. They both escape and split the bounty.
Blondie dissolves his relationship with Tuco because he doesn’t think Tuco will be worth more than $3,000. Tuco is stuck in the middle of the desert.
Blonde is staying at an inn near the front lines of the American Civil war. Tuco sneaks into Blonde’s room. Tuco makes Blonde put a rope around his neck but Blonde escapes because a canon ball from the front lines destroys half of the build Again, there is lots of tension in this scene between the two characters because a gun is pointed at Blonde the whole time.
Tuco sneaks up on Blonde while he is doing a job. Tuco takes revenge on Blonde by leading him at gun point 100 miles into the desert without water.
Suddenly a wagon without a driver comes blazing down the road without a driver. Tuco is desperate to get information out of one of almost dead men in the back. While getting the water for him, Blonde crawls over to wagon to and learns the information before Tuco gets back.
In this scene there is another intense stare down between Tuco and Angel eyes. The scene ends with Angel Eyes punching Tuco for information.
This scene is special because it shows a long duel between Angel Eye’s men versus Tuco and Blonde. Tuco and Blonde are walking through an abandoned town while engaging in a shoot-out/duel. The camera work in this scene also starts with the camera on the face of Angel’s men then a long sweeping shot. The director uses this technique to show the character then their surroundings.
Close-up face shots are used by the director extensively throughout the film to enhance the feeling of the characters.
Here is the iconic Mexican standoff between the three men. The camera shifts between the men’s faces and their hands edging towards their guns. At this point the music is at peak volume which is adding to the suspense of the shoot-out.
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, is a film about three men set during the civil war. Blonde is a sharp-shooter, Tuco is a bandit, and Angel Eyes is a hitman. Blonde and Tuco know each other because Blonde captures Tuco and brings him to the sheriff. Then once Tuco is at the end of the hangman rope, Blonde shoots him down to free him. Together they share the money. Later, Blonde dissolves relationship with Tuco. Once Tuco catches up to Blonde in the middle of the dessert, they encounter a runaway wagon filled with confederate soldiers. One man, Bill Carson, is still alive. Carson dies and tells Tuco the name of the cemetery while Blonde learns the name of the grave . In this grave there is lots of gold buried. Tuco and Blonde must keep each other alive. Angel Eyes learns about the buried gold from a man he is contracted to kill. Angel is looking for Bill Carson. He finds out that Tuco and Blonde met Bill Carson and learned the name of the cemetery and grave, now they must lead him to it. At the cemetery the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly must fight for two hundred thousand dollars worth of gold.
During the American Civil War, three men united by greed try to find buried gold at any cost in the rough American West.

In these storyboards, I want the type to react to the cannon shooting.
The goal of these three storyboards is to firstly show the names in a bold way, similar to how the eyes are emphasized in the movie. The next goal is to mimic the scene at the end of the movie. The Ugly is in a cemetery where the graves are arranged around a circle.
(continued) Then the camera is in the middle and circumrotates as the Ugly runs around the cemetery. I want to achieve the same effect but instead of using a character, I would use names.
Here, I want bullets to fall into the dirt then some names fall into the first mirroring the motion of the bullets.
In this sequence, I want the words to appear in front of the boots for a few seconds and then the feet walk forward over the words and they disappear.
