When the movie first begins it is in black and white. We meet Dorothy and her dog Toto. A tornado is coming to Kansas and her and Toto run and hide in their house. As the tornado runs through it rips the house off the ground and whisks them off to a new and magical land called Oz. As this happens the scene changes from black and white to color.
Glinda is the protector, she protects the people from the Wicked Witch. She only wants good and only gifts good. She helps people.
The Wicked Witch of the West is evil. She wants to hurt people. The Witch is trying to find Dorothy because she wants her magical red ruby slippers that Glinda had given her.
These are the magical red ruby slippers that Glinda gives Dorothy when they meet that the Wicked Witch of the West wants from Dorothy.
Here Dorothy is walking down the Yellow Brick Road and she is at a cross road trying to decide which direction is to The Wizard, the man who will help bring her back home to Kansas.
On Dorothy's journey to the Wizard she comes across new friends, The Tin Man, The Scarecrow, and The Cowardly Lion. They all want to see the wizard because the Tin man wants a heart, the Scarecrow wants a brain, and the Cowardly Lion wants to be brave.
This is when Dorothy and her new friends find the Emerald City. The city that the Wizard lives. Here they discover that the wizard isn't a wizard and that he is just a man behind a curtain. They think that their wishes wont come true only for Glinda comes and gifts the Tin man a heart, the Scarecrow a brain, and the Cowardly Lion a certificate of bravery. Then tells Dorothy that all she needs to do is click her heels and say "I wish I were home" three times.
A tornado comes through Kansas and Dorothy and her dog Toto are whisked away in their house to this far away mystical land called Oz. As this happens to Dorothy to us the audience we see our screen shift from black and white to this bright, vivid, and colorful screen. When Dorothy lands in Oz her house crushed a witch that was terrorizing the Munchkins of Munckinland are all applauding and Glinda the Good Witch of the East comes down in a pink bubblegum bubble to thank and meet Dorothy. She gifts her the witched red ruby slippers. Then the Wicked Witch of the West shows up and her magic broom and want's to rip the slippers of Dorothy but Glinda put a spell on them protecting them. Dorothy then asks how she can get back home and Glinda tells her to just follow the yellow brick road to Emerald City, there she will meet the Wizard who will help her get home. On Dorothy's journey her and Toto come across new friends. The meet the Scarecrow, a man who wants to go to the wizard to get a brain, the Tin man who wants a heart, and the Cowardly Lion who wants to be courageous. On their journey the Wicked Witch tries to stop them by sending in her flying monkeys to try to get Dorothy and her slippers but the group is able to fight back. The Witch tries to take the slippers from Dorothy but as she is trying Dorothy spills a bucket of water on the Witch resulting in her melting away. And the group is able to get to the Wizard only to discover that he isn't a wizard at all and he is just a man behind the curtain. The group begin to feel that they will never receives their wishes and Dorothy believes that she will never be able to go home. Then Glinda comes down and as a gift for stopping the witch once and for all she gifts the Tin man a heart, the Scarecrow a brain, and the Cowardly Lion is given a certificate of bravery. Then she tells Dorothy that all she has to do is click her heels three times and say "I wish I were home." There a tornado runs through pulling Dorothy and Toto back home and Dorothy wakes up and realizes that Oz and her whole adventure was just a dream and all her new friends were just her family and friends.
